Adventist Health Glendale Names New Finance Officer

Chris Allen.

Adventist Health Glendale has named Chris Allen finance officer for the hospital. He begins his new role Sept. 21.
Allen joins from Keck Medicine of USC where he has been interim chief financial officer. Previously, he served the organization as executive administrator for financial planning and decision support with responsibility for operating and capital budget practices and analysis to support their strategic development efforts. Before Keck Medicine, Allen worked at UC Irvine Medical Center in a variety of finance roles, including interim CFO.
His previous experience includes director of finance roles at Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids, Mich., and Aurora Health Care in Milwaukee; manager of decision support and financial planning for Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin in Milwaukee and analyst roles at University of Chicago Hospitals and Aurora Health Care.

In announcing Allen’s appointment, Adventist Health Glendale President Alice Issai said: “I worked with Chris at both Keck Medicine and UCI Medical Center and saw first-hand his superb strategic financial skills, business acumen, long-range and capital planning talent and his ability to tie operations and finance together. He works seamlessly with physicians, establishing trust and partnership to accelerate growth. Moreover, working with Chris is a pleasure; he is energetic, a strong believer in teamwork and leads with integrity. In carrying out his duties, Chris is guided by the need to improve the lives of both staff and the communities we serve.”
Allen is a graduate of the University of Georgia with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and finance. With more than 20 years of finance leadership in health care, Allen will build on the progress made by former finance officer Eric Krueger, who retired earlier this year.
Adventist Health Glendale is the largest medical center in the San Fernando Valley, built on the Seventh-day Adventist faith and a mission to improve the health of our communities. Celebrating its 115th anniversary, Adventist Health Glendale has earned five stars, the highest possible, from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, 11 straight A grades for safety and quality from the Leapfrog Group, and is ranked among the top 10% of hospitals in the Los Angeles area and top 5% of hospitals in California by U.S. News & World Report.
