Nitros, Falcons Eliminated in 2nd Round

The Glendale High School varsity boys’ water polo team was ousted from the CIF-SS Division IV playoffs after falling at Yucaipa, 11-9, in a second-round matchup last Thursday.
Senior Gregory Carrillo led the team with three goals for the Nitros while senior Andrew Azizian, junior Artin Ghazaryan, junior Arno Ghazaryan, junior Andrew Klujian and sophomore August Kalaba each scored once.
The Nitros concluded the campaign as the Pacific League runner-up with a 7-2 record (15-17 overall). Glendale will look to build off its strong season and return to the postseason next year.

The Falcons were ousted from the CIF-SS Division III playoffs after losing to visiting Irvine, 12-9, in a second-round game last Thursday.
Alex Movsesyan scored a game-high five goals, Michael Petersen produced a pair of goals, and Daron Alexanians and Aaron Choi each scored once. Meanwhile, goalie Logan Freemon posted seven saves in the cage.
Crescenta Valley finished the campaign third in the Pacific League standings with a 6-3 record (14-14 overall).
