Clothing Swaps, Repair Cafés Set for Return

After high community demand and participation, Glendale’s Office of Sustainability and Glendale Library, Arts and Culture recently announced that new Clothing Swap and Repair Café dates have been scheduled at various libraries.
Clothing Swaps are a great opportunity for community members to donate items, which are collected, sorted and displayed for participants to freely take. Repair Cafés are where skilled volunteers fix, tinker and repair items from clothing holes to dull knives, broken lamps and beyond for free.
In the first year of the Clothing Swaps and Repair Cafés, more than 1,000 pounds of textiles and clothes were diverted from landfill, more than 250 items were repaired, and more than 500 community attendees and volunteers participated.
The schedule for Clothing Swaps and Repair Cafes is as follows:


CLOTHING SWAP

  • Saturday, June 1, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Pacific Park Library
  • Saturday, Nov. 16, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Montrose Library
  • Saturday, Sept. 7, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Casa Verdugo Library
  • Saturday, March 1, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Brand Library

REPAIR CAFÉ

  • Saturday, June 8, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Pacific Park Library
  • Saturday, Sept. 14, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Casa Verdugo Library
  • Saturday, Nov. 23, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Montrose Library
  • Saturday, March 8, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Brand Library
