Softball: Bid for CIF Crown Ends for Crescenta Valley

The Crescenta Valley High School varsity softball team lost at Orange Vista High in Perris 5-4 in the second round of the CIF Southern Section Division IV playoffs on May 7.
Senior Perri Derian pitched 6 1/3 innings with six strikeouts, while junior Hannah Wyroski recorded a hit, two RBIs and a run. Senior Jaiden Sabelis produced a hit, an RBI, a run and a stolen base, while junior Alexa Johnson contributed a hit, an RBI and a run. Junior Mila Reddy tallied a double, senior Anais Ochoa had a base hit, and sophomore Reese Fontanilla scored a run and stole a base.
The Falcons finished the campaign as the Pacific League Tournament runner-up and also second in the league standings with a 6-1 record (14-12 overall).
