Glendale Community College held its 17th Athletic Hall of Fame reception and banquet in the Verdugo Gym on April 7.
Athletes, coaches and supporters of the Vaquero athletic programs were honored at the event that drew in more than 200 supporters. The event, which was first held in 2002, also raises funds for the athletic department.
Six individuals alongside the 2011 baseball team were inducted at the ceremony.
Manny Mashhoud was recognized as a distinguished community partner. Bob Donaghy was acknowledged as an outstanding coach. Brandy Morin and Grace Graham-Zamudio were honored as outstanding athletes. Dr. Jack Yu was given the meritorious service recognition, and the 2011 baseball team received accolades for their historic season.
Former GCC Superintendent and President David Viar was awarded the Pillar of Achievement as well.
