Girls’ Lacrosse: Nitros Win League Title Following Unbeaten Run

The Crescenta Valley High School varsity girls’ lacrosse team suffered a 16-6 Mission League loss at Chaminade High in West Hills in its regular-season finale on April 24. Individual statistics were not reported to the News-Press.
The Falcons defeated visiting Sherman Oaks Notre Dame 16-8 in a league game on April 22.
Junior Camden Ballard registered five goals and one assist, while junior Sophia Lima contributed five goals. Junior Ashley Giboney chipped in two goals and two assists, while sophomore Julia Marriott produced one goal and two assists. Juniors Kylie Atzert and Hannah Yi each tallied one goal and one assist, while junior Kaily Kim scored one goal.
Crescenta Valley suffered a narrow 13-12 overtime loss at Village Christian High in Sun Valley in a league game on April 18, as freshman Rori Dannerth finished with 13 saves.
Lima racked up seven goals and one assist, Ballard recorded three goals and one assist, and Kim and Marriott each scored one goal.
The Falcons finished the campaign third in league with a 3-5 record (13-7 overall). The CIF Southern Section playoff brackets will be released on April 27 at 11 a.m.

GLENDALE
The Nitros picked up a 12-1 Prep League victory over visiting La Cañada in their regular-season finale on April 25.
Glendale posted a convincing 21-11 victory at Heritage Christian High in Northridge in a league game on April 19.
The Nitros finished the campaign as undefeated league champions with a 7-0 record (16-4 overall). The CIF Southern Section playoff brackets will be released on April 27 at 11 a.m.
