Chavez to Be Remembered With Celebration

The city of Glendale invites the community to celebrate the life and work of Cesar Chavez with a cultural event on Saturday at the Pacific Community Center from 1-4 p.m. Cesar Chavez Day is March 31, which marks the anniversary of his birth in 1927.
The celebration will feature community booths, live performances, an opportunity drawing and free tacos served from 1:15 p.m. until food runs out. This event will take place rain or shine, as it has been moved exclusively indoors.
The emcee for the afternoon will be Anita Quiñonez Gabrielian and the keynote speaker will be Manuel Bernal of the Cesar Chavez Foundation. The official program will begin at 1:30 p.m.
