Boys’ Tennis: CV Eyes Return as Glendale, Hoover Suffer Setbacks

The Hoover High School varsity boys’ tennis team lost at Burbank 16-2 in a Pacific League match on March 26. No. 1 singles player Alec Sarkissian won both sets with scores of 6-4 and 7-6 (7-3).
The Tornados (2-5 in league) will host Arcadia for a league match on April 9 at 3:45 p.m. before hosting Pasadena on April 16.

GLENDALE
The Nitros lost to visiting Pasadena 15-3 in a Pacific League match on March 26.
No. 2 singles player Armen Paruryan picked up a 6-2 set win, No. 1 Henri Hovhannisyan won a set with a 6-4 score, and the No. 2 doubles team of Sergey Hryhorian and Leo de Guademar added a 6-4 victory.
Glendale (0-8 overall, 0-7 in league) will visit Burroughs High in Burbank for a league match on April 9 at 3:45 p.m. before hosting Burbank on April 11.

CRESCENTA VALLEY
The Falcons returned to action with a match against Glendale on the road March 28. The Pacific League match ended after the News-Press’ deadline and will be included in next week’s issue.
Crescenta Valley (6-4, 3-2) will visit Flintridge Prep in La Cañada Flintridge for a nonleague match on April 1 at 4 p.m. before traveling to Burbank on April 2.
