Boys’ Lacrosse: Nitros End Skid With Narrow Win

The Crescenta Valley High School varsity boys’ lacrosse team lost at Sherman Oaks Notre Dame 14-2 in a nonleague game on March 1.
Senior Nelson Lunt recorded four ground balls and one goal, while senior Quincy Lunt scored one goal. Senior Matthew Kubela finished with 19 saves, while freshman Griffin Barnes tallied seven saves. Senior Elias Shammaa registered four ground balls, while senior Michael Clark and junior Cormac Abaravich each contributed two ground balls. Seniors Josh Kim and Daniel Briones each had one ground ball, while junior Andrew Peterson produced one face-off win.
The Falcons lost at Hart High in Santa Clarita 16-4 in a nonleague game on Feb. 28.
Quincy Lunt finished with two goals and one ground ball, while junior Charlie Allen contributed two ground balls and one goal. Peterson registered 10 face-off wins and one goal, while Nelson Lunt tallied seven ground balls and one assist. Kubela made eight saves, while Barnes collected four saves. Senior Jackson Roehr and Clark each recorded three ground balls, while junior Samuel Gore, sophomore Aidan Roe-Briesewitz and Abaravich each had one ground ball.
CVHS (1-5 overall, 0-1 in league) will host Heritage Christian High of Northridge for a Gold Coast League game on March 12 at 2:15 p.m. before hosting La Cañada on March 14.

GLENDALE
The Nitros edged visiting Heritage Christian High of Northridge 12-11 in a nonleague game on March 6. Glendale previously lost to visiting Castaic 11-3 in a nonleague game on March 4. Individual statistics were not reported to the Glendale News-Press.
Glendale (1-3 overall) will visit Lynwood for a nonleague game on March 12 at 6 p.m. before hosting Royal High of Simi Valley on March 13.
