Glendale, Crescenta Valley Girls’ Lacrosse Win Openers

The Glendale High School varsity girls’ lacrosse team posted a 12-3 season-opening victory at Valencia on Feb. 12 as Hannah Quast made five saves.
Jet Brown registered four goals and two assists, while Kana Baker tallied two goals and one assist. Victoria Meneses and Mika Brown each finished with two assists and one goal, Mihiro Okubo chipped in one goal and one assist, and Yaretzi Morales scored one goal.
The Nitros (1-0 overall) will host Redondo Union High of Redondo Beach for a nonleague game on Feb. 21 at 4 p.m. before hosting Birmingham High of Lake Balboa on Feb. 23.

The defending CIF champion Falcons secured a 14-6 season-opening victory at Vista Murrieta on Feb. 12.
Junior Camden Ballard racked up eight goals, junior Sophia Lima scored five goals and junior Kaily Kim chipped in one goal.
Crescenta Valley (1-0) will visit Hart High in Newhall for a nonleague game on Feb. 20 at 4 p.m. before traveling to Downey on Feb. 26.
