Lee, Farhadian Net Hat Tricks in Crescenta Valley Girls’ Soccer Victory

The Crescenta Valley High School varsity girls’ soccer team overwhelmed host Glendale 12-0 in a Pacific League match on Jan. 30.
Sophomore Kira Lee racked up three goals and two assists, while junior Leah Farhadian registered three goals and one assist. Freshman Arianna Dominguez finished with two goals and one assist, while junior Emily Martinez recorded two assists and one goal. Senior Mackenzie Elster chipped in one goal and one assist, while senior Adamari Polanco and sophomore Danielle Elias each scored one goal. Senior Olivia Clark was credited with three assists, senior Cameron Ouye tallied two assists and junior Hannah Yi had one assist.
The Falcons shut out visiting Burbank 3-0 in a league match on Jan. 26.
Martinez finished with one goal and one assist, Polanco and Lee each scored one goal, and Dominguez, Clark and Farhadian each contributed one assist.
Crescenta Valley (15-5-2 overall, 12-0-1 in league) hosted Arcadia for its regular season finale on Feb. 1; the league match ended after the Glendale News-Press’ deadline and will be included in next week’s issue. The CIF Southern Section playoff brackets will be released Feb. 3 at 10 a.m. and the Falcons will compete in Division IV.

HOOVER
The Tornados lost to visiting Burroughs High of Burbank 6-1 in a Pacific League match on Jan. 26 as senior Isabella Quinones scored one goal.
Hoover suffered a 5-0 league loss at Burbank on Jan. 30.
The Tornados (4-16-2, 1-10-2) hosted Glendale for their regular season finale on Feb. 1; the league match ended after the Glendale News-Press’ deadline and will be included in next week’s issue.

GLENDALE
The Nitros were shut out by visiting Crescenta Valley High 12-0 in a Pacific League match on Jan. 30 as senior Amelia Knur registered 20 saves.
Glendale lost at Pasadena 7-0 in a league match on Jan. 26.
Knur finished with 15 saves, junior Nelia Ranjbar tallied two shots on goal, and freshmen Elena Shakhbadaryan and Kailynn Fieda each had one shot on goal.
The Nitros (0-18, 0-13) visited Hoover High for their regular season finale on Feb. 1; the league match ended after the Glendale News-Press’ deadline and will be included in next week’s issue.
