League Leader Glendale Shuts Out Burbank, Hoover

The Glendale High School varsity boys’ soccer team shut out host Burbank 3-0 in a Pacific League game on Jan. 16.
Senior Hani Ahmadie, senior Kevin Anjunyan and junior Arsen Mkhitaryan each scored one goal, while senior Victor Santos Mejia was credited with an assist.
The Nitros picked up a 3-0 league victory at Hoover High on Jan. 12.
Senior Edgar Naghdalyan, senior Alejandro Nunez and junior Tony Torosyan each chipped in one goal, while Santos Mejia recorded three assists.
Glendale (9-1-2 overall, 8-1 in league) will visit Arcadia for a league game on Jan. 23 at 3:30 p.m. before hosting Pasadena on Jan. 26.


CRESCENTA VALLEY
The Falcons routed host Muir High in Pasadena 5-0 in a Pacific League game on Jan. 16, as senior Arvin Navasartian earned a clean sheet in goal.
Seniors Asher Helberg and James Chavez each chipped in two goals, while senior Grant Hovhannisyan had one goal.
Crescenta Valley lost to visiting Arcadia 1-0 in a league matchup on Jan. 12.
The Falcons (5-8-1, 4-5) will host Burroughs High of Burbank for a league game on Jan. 23 at 3:15 p.m. before visiting Burbank on Jan. 26.


HOOVER
The Tornados settled for a tie and were shut out in their two matchups on Jan. 12 and 16, respectively. Hoover drew with host Pasadena, 1-1, on Jan. 16, and lost to visiting Glendale, 3-0, on Jan. 12. Individual statistics were not reported to the Glendale News-Press.
Hoover (5-5-2, 2-5-2) will visit Muir High in Pasadena for a league game on Jan. 23 at 3:45 p.m. before traveling to Burroughs High in Burbank on Jan. 26.
