GUSD to Offer Free Summer Meals

The Glendale Unified School District is offering its annual free Summer Meal program to help ensure that children have access to nutritional meals when school is not in session.
The program will provide free summer meals to GUSD students at 20 school campuses and two park sites from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Breakfast and lunch meals will be available at no charge to students participating in GUSD Summer School and Summer Child Development and Child Care Programs.
Community mealtimes are available at the parks for children aged 18 and under, or individuals with disabilities in the GUSD community who are not participating in the GUSD Summer School or Summer CDCC programs.
“The Summer Meal program is an important resource for families who depend on school meals for access to healthy food, and we are proud of our Nutrition Services Department, which does a fantastic job of serving meals to our students and community members all summer long,” GUSD said in a statement.
The meal distribution schedule is as follows:

  • June 9 to June 23: Jefferson Elementary School
  • June 12 to July 21: Valley View Elementary School
