League Champion Falcons Open CIF Playoffs

The Crescenta Valley High School varsity girls’ lacrosse team opened the CIF-Southern Section Division II playoffs by hosting Canyon High of Anaheim yesterday. The game ended after the Glendale News-Press’ deadline and will be included in next week’s issue.
If victorious, the Pacific League champion Falcons (4-0 in league, 15-5 overall) would advance to the quarterfinals against either San Juan Hills High of San Juan Capistrano (12-4) or Village Christian High of Sun Valley (13-5) on Monday, May 8.

GLENDALE

The Nitros were edged by visiting Simi Valley, 12-11, in their regular-season finale last Wednesday. Individual statistics were not reported to the Glendale News-Press by the Glendale coaching staff.
The Nitros finished the campaign fourth in the Pacific League with a 1-3 record (6-12 overall).
