Nitros, Falcons Collect League Victories

The Glendale High School varsity girls’ lacrosse team defeated host La Cañada, 10-2, in its Pacific League opener on Wednesday.
Mihiro Okubo, Kana Baker, Jet Brown and Mika Brown each scored a pair of goals while Arev Avedian and Victoria Meneses each added one goal.
The Nitros previously defeated visiting Westridge School of Pasadena, 16-3, in a nonleague game. Individual statistics were not reported to the Glendale News-Press.
Glendale (6-9 overall, 1-0 in league) will host Crescenta Valley High for a league game on Friday, April 21, at 3:30 p.m. before hosting Simi Valley for its regular-season finale on April 24.

CVHS sophomore Kaily Kim was credited with an assist to help the Falcons beat Canyon High in a nonleague game last weekend.

CRESCENTA VALLEY

The Falcons defeated host Canyon High in Anaheim, 17-6, in a nonleague game last Saturday.
Sophomore Sophia Lima racked up six goals and two assists, sophomore Camden Ballard registered five goals and three assists, and senior captain Brianne Ballard tallied four goals and three assists. Senior Shari Park produced one goal and three assists, senior captain Sophia Kachkeran scored once and sophomore Kaily Kim was credited with an assist.
CVHS previously snapped a three-game losing streak after beating host Village Christian in Sun Valley in a nonleague game, 11-9. Brianne Ballard racked up four goals and two assists while Lima recorded two goals and four assists. Camden Ballard finished with two goals while senior captain Ashlyn Burton, Kachkeran and Park each scored one goal.
Crescenta Valley (10-5 overall) will visit Valencia for a nonleague game on Monday, April 17, at 6:30 p.m. before visiting Simi Valley on April 19.
