CV’s Campbell Pitches No-Hitter

The Crescenta Valley High School varsity baseball team edged visiting Vista Murrieta High of Murrieta, 1-0, in a nonleague last Saturday as Connor Campbell turned in an outstanding performance, twirling a no-hitter with four strikeouts and four walks.
Jimmy Spears recorded a hit and a stolen base, Ryan Ivanyi tallied a hit and a walk, and Jake Deno had a base hit. Everett Pam walked, scored a run and stole a base while Nico Terenzi walked once. Tyler Garland was credited with an RBI while Tyler Oliver stole a base.
The Falcons previously defeated host Muir High in Pasadena in a Pacific League game, 5-1. Terenzi, who went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs, pitched a complete game with seven strikeouts, one earned run, three hits and two walks.
Ivanyi went 2-for-4 with an RBI, Brandon Kwon went 2-for-3 with a run, and Dashiell Schultz and Chris Torres each produced a hit, a run and a stolen base. Deno walked once and scored twice, Jake Rendo tallied two walks and Pam stole a base.
CVHS (13-4 overall, 8-0 in league) will open a two-game league series against visiting Burbank on Tuesday, April 11, at 6 p.m.

GLENDALE

The Nitros were shut out by visiting Burroughs High of Burbank, 11-0, in a Pacific League game on Tuesday.
Glendale previously lost at Arcadia, 2-1, in an eight-inning league game. Senior captain Frankie Malagon recorded a hit, a run and two walks while junior Jason Martinez tallied a hit and an RBI. Senior Levi Valadez allowed one earned run on six hits and three walks with a pair of strikeouts over five innings while junior Brandon Guzman walked one batter across a pair of hitless and scoreless innings in relief. Senior Erik Chavez finished with a hit and a walk, seniors Neil Dewan, Sean Forero and Javier Solis each had a hit, and senior Josh Hopkins walked once.
The Nitros (6-12 overall, 2-5 in league) will visit Muir High in Pasadena for a league game on Tuesday, April 11, at 3:30 p.m. before visiting Viewpoint High in Calabasas on April 12.

Hoover High School freshman Owen Marks recorded a hit and a walk during a nonleague game against Duarte on Tuesday.

The Tornados were shut out by visiting Duarte, 2-0, in a nonleague game on Tuesday.
Freshman Owen Marks recorded a hit and a walk, junior Josh Kiem and sophomore Gabriel Flores each finished with a hit and a stolen base, and sophomore Enzo Mitchell walked once. Senior Fernando Gallegos had two strikeouts over six innings while junior Julian Corral, who had a hit and a stolen base, pitched a perfect inning of relief with one strikeout.
The Tornados previously dropped a Pacific League game to visiting Burbank, 6-1. Marks tallied a hit, an RBI and a stolen base while Corral and Flores each had a hit. Sophomore Jude Maldanado scored once, Gallegos registered three walks, and junior Isaiah Alvarado walked once and stole a base.
Hoover (4-12 overall, 0-8 in league) will visit Golden Valley High in Santa Clarita for a nonleague game Saturday at 1:30 p.m. before hosting Pasadena on April 11.
