GWP Celebrates Being a Smart Energy Provider

Glendale Water & Power recently celebrated their Smart Energy Provider designation for SEP Week, which ran from March 6-10.
The occasion prompted GWP, along with other recipients with the same honor, to shine a light on the smart programs that have helped them earn a SEP designation from the American Public Power Association — a feat that only 101 of the nation’s more than 2,000 public power utilities nationwide have achieved.
GWP was awarded with its SEP status in 2022 for demonstrating a commitment to and proficiency in energy efficiency, distributed generation and environmental initiatives that support the goal of providing safe, reliable, low-cost and sustainable electric service.
“The SEP designation represents GWP’s commitment to offering programs that help our customers save money, reduce our collective environmental impact, and support our community’s responsible energy use,” said Mark Young, general manager of GWP. “We are very proud to be recognized as a utility at the forefront of smart energy best practices.”
