Downtown Glendale Association to Celebrate International Women’s Day

The Downtown Glendale Association — a community benefit district focused on improving business along the Brand Boulevard corridor in downtown Glendale — is hosting a celebration of International Women’s Day on Wednesday, March 8, from 2-5 p.m. at Mya Rooftop at the Glenmark, located at 1100 N. Brand Blvd.
For more than 100 years, International Women’s Day has been celebrated annually on March 8. This is a day to celebrate the cultural, social, economic and political achievements of women, while also making it a call to action for continuing to forge a gender-balanced world. For the third year, Glendale is taking part in this global celebration.
The association will be hosting a presentation on financial literacy and a conversation about embracing equity, followed by a reception where guests can meet and mingle with the speakers. Each ticket is $45 and includes two drink tickets and appetizers.
The event will feature a presentation by Diane Doolin on “Embracing the Mantle of Family Financial Leadership.” Women are expected to control the majority of wealth by the end of the decade. This talk helps prepare women of all ages to feel comfortable taking the lead when it comes to their financial readiness, health and legacy.
Doolin is the founding partner of the Doolin Group at Morgan Stanley. With more than 30 years of experience as a financial adviser, her focus is on building long-lasting client relationships and shaping the team’s investment and family wealth planning strategies. She has pioneered concepts including multigenerational advisory teams, simplified client financial reporting, Client University, and family financial education with a special focus on women as family financial and philanthropic leaders.
