Tornados Edge Pasadena in League Prelims, 7-6

The Hoover High School varsity girls’ water polo team defeated Pasadena, 7-6, in a Pacific League Tournament prelim game on Tuesday.
Katalina Martin posted five saves, Ellysee Baker and Juliana Aviles each scored a pair of goals, and Adriana Harutyunyan, Lucie Gharibyan and Leah Gomez each had one goal.
The Tornados (7-11 overall, 3-4 in league) recently battled Muir High of Pasadena in a league finals game; the contest ended after the Glendale News-Press’ deadline and will be included in next week’s issue.
The CIF-Southern Section playoff brackets will be released today at 9 a.m.

CRESCENTA VALLEY

Crescenta Valley High School senior Mayda Hartounian recorded two goals during a Pacific League Tournament game against Arcadia on Tuesday.

The Falcons lost to Arcadia, 8-5, in a Pacific League Tournament prelim game on Tuesday.
Senior Mayda Hartounian registered two goals and one steal, senior Sydney Lansang produced one goal and five steals, and senior Izzy Nolte and junior Gianna Double each scored once. Junior Miranda Graham had 11 saves with a pair of steals, sophomore Ani Thomasian finished with three steals and sophomore Michelle Khachatryan tallied two steals.
CVHS (8-15 overall, 5-2 in league) recently battled Glendale in a league finals game; the contest ended after the Glendale News-Press’ deadline and will be included in next week’s issue. The CIF-Southern Section playoff brackets will be released today at 9 a.m.

GLENDALE

Glendale High School sophomore Inessa Khajehgian scored a pair of goals during a Pacific League Tournament game against Burroughs High on Tuesday.

The Nitros lost to top-seeded Burroughs High of Burbank, 13-5, in a Pacific League Tournament prelim game on Tuesday.
Sophomore Emily Gevorkyan tallied four saves, sophomore Brina Brati scored three goals and sophomore Inessa Khajehgian finished with two goals.
Glendale (12-17 overall, 3-4 in league) recently battled Crescenta Valley High in a league finals game; the contest ended after the Glendale News-Press’ deadline and will be included in next week’s issue.
