The Crescenta Valley High School varsity girls’ tennis team sent nine individuals to compete in the Pacific League singles and doubles tournament on Tuesday.
CV’s No. 3 seed, Claudia Chmielewski, swept her No. 14 Burbank opponent, 8-0, in the first round before falling to No. 6 Burbank, 8-3, in the second round of prelims on Tuesday. No. 5 Natalie Mirbegian won her first-round matchup against No. 12 Glendale, 8-3, before losing to No. 4 Arcadia, 8-6, in the second round. No. 7 Nicolette Aghabegian defeated No. 10 Glendale, 8-3, before falling to the eventual singles champion, Burbank’s No. 2 Sena Hammel, 8-0, in the second round.
Meanwhile in doubles action, the CV’s No. 5 team of Gabriella Rouveyrol and Lexi Sheynin defected No. 12 Burroughs High of Burbank, 8-2, in the opening round before losing to No. 4 Burbank, 8-4, in the second round. The No. 6 tandem of Amanda An and Kristen Kim defeated No. 11 Glendale, 8-4, before losing to No. 3 Arcadia, 8-6, in the second round. The No. 10 duo of Ramya Kumarasuriar and Liudmila Abadzheva upset No. 7 Burbank, 8-2, before falling in the second round to No. 2 Arcadia, 8-0.
The CIF-SS playoff bracket for team competition will be released on Monday, Oct. 31, at 11 a.m.

The No. 11 tandem of Natalie Mirzakhanyan and Sarah Davtyan lost their opening matchup against No. 6 Crescenta Valley, 8-4.
