Glendale Unified School District students this week joined others across the nation for National Walk and Roll to School Day, an annual event that encourages families to find non-car ways to get their kids to school.
The event first ran in 1997 and has been used to spur policy and environmental changes to facilitate safer pedestrian and bicyclist use of city streets and sidewalks.
