A 21-year-old Los Angeles man was arrested on suspicion of felony evading after allegedly driving more than 100 mph on the 5 Freeway and leading a patrol officer on a high-speed pursuit starting at around 11 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25. The motorist was reported to have exited the freeway at San Fernando Road and collided with a center divider rail, and then backed into the officer’s vehicle in an unsuccessful attempt to flee.

A 30-year-old Glendale man was arrested on suspicion of identity theft, possession of narcotics and possession of controlled-substance paraphernalia after he reportedly would not leave a gas station at around 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25. Officers reported finding a piece of foil with burnt residue in his possession as well as a prescribed drug in someone else’s name and documents with another person’s personal identifying information inside his vehicle.

Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station

Two jackhammers were reported stolen from a home being remodeled in the 2700 block of Starfall Drive in La Crescenta sometime between 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23, and 9 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24. The intruder likely accessed the home through the open back wall.

A man who was just released from custody of the Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station was reported to have stolen a bicycle mounted to a bus stopped near Briggs Avenue and Foothill Boulevard at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25. He was described as a white man with blonde hair standing 6 feet tall, weighing 180 pounds and wearing a dark T-shirt and black shorts.
