Ronald McDonald House’s Shine Gala Is Oct. 15

The Ronald McDonald House Pasadena will host its 18th annual Shine Gala, themed “Under the Tuscan Sun,” on Saturday evening, Oct. 15, at a private club in Pasadena.
The evening will “celebrate keeping families close. Together, we create a community of support and enable families to access the best medical care possible for their child.”
For parents like Lindsey, who stayed at the Ronald McDonald House when her daughter Piper needed urgent surgery, being close makes all the difference — “The gift of being together — it just makes you feel like you’re going to be OK.”
Gather together with philanthropists, corporate partners and community leaders to enjoy an evening raising funds to support children and families throughout their health care journey.
The party will honor corporate partner and presenting sponsor Bank of America, which provides board leadership, volunteerism and financial support to ensure the strength of all families. Additionally, the Felton Family — Mitsuko and Dave along with Christopher and Hanako — are local residents who have provided a legacy of family support for the past 10 years by serving on the board, leading Walk for Kids teams, and contributing to the Pasadena community.
“With your support, Ronald McDonald House Pasadena reduces stress and anxiety for families seeking medical treatment for their child,” said Executive Director Mara Leong-Maguinez. “Families are provided with all the comforts of a home-away-from-home, without the costly financial burden, allowing them to focus on helping their child heal.”
Funds raised through the Shine Gala — co-chaired by Sandra Larson and Andrew Nay — will support the Ronald McDonald House Pasadena mission of providing comfort, care and support to families with critically ill children, keeping them close to one another, their doctors, and needed medical care.
