Phillip “Ted” Richer, Jr., a sixth-generation native of Los Angeles, died on March 4, 2022 at the age of 86, in Glendale, California.
Ted was a devoted husband to his best friend and wife, Lucia, for 61 years; an adoring father to David and Lesa (wife), Katherine and Michael (husband), Margaret, and Elizabeth and Jorenz (husband-deceased); and a proud grandfather to Corey, Lauren and Kian (husband), Ebenezer, and Christopher. In his last days, his children and grandchildren all took turns spending time caring for him.
Ted, an engineer for 39 years, also enjoyed backpacking, running marathons, biking, and lifelong learning.
All who knew Ted remember him as a man who loved generously and whose smile would warm your heart. He lived his faith volunteering countless hours to help make others’ lives better, whether it be at his church, at his children’s schools, or in the community.
