Now Brotman Values City Staffers’ Advice

I was shocked to read Councilmember Dan Brotman claim (about a $15 million street project) that “we have traffic engineers who know what they are doing,” implying the information he received from staff was golden advice to calm traffic on La Crescenta Avenue.
Am I the only one who remembers his dismissive rebuke to the electrical generation professionals that GWP presented attempting to upgrade Grayson Power Station? Brotman’s argument then was the GWP staff didn’t know what they were doing and only he and his green advocacy advisers were privy to the correct way to protect Glendale’s energy needs and save the planet.
Here we are now, years later, with no reliable, affordable and locally sourced energy plant built. Through Brotman’s efforts the bill has increased an additional $500+ million in tax- and ratepayers costs for less energy output. Great plan, Councilmember.
Dan, why couldn’t you have believed those city engineers too?
