GUSD Honors Armenian American Heritage Month With Ceremony

The Glendale Unified School District will host its inaugural ceremony in honor of Armenian American Heritage Month on Saturday, April 22, at Hoover High School. The event will be led by emcee Ani Adjemian, who is a GUSD parent. The guests coming to participate in the festivities include keynote speaker Shushan Karapetian, Director of USC Dornsife Institute of Armenian Studies; alumni speakers Councilman Ardy Kassakhian and Shant Sahakian, executive director of the Armenian American Museum and Glendale Unified Board of Education clerk; and story time speakers Steve Boyadzhyan, author and producer, and Apri Krikorian, artist, author and entrepreneur.
Additionally, a discussion panel will be present. The group comprisesNare Avagyan, head of AGBU Innovation Studies; Karen Khachikyan, co-founder and CEO of Expper Technologies; Paolo Pirjanian, founder and CEO of Embodied, Inc.; Ara Soudjian, filmmaker and founder of Friendly Filmworks; Ara Zada, chef and author of “Lavish Armenian Cookbook,” and Ellina Abovian, KTLA 5 News general assignment reporter.
