Nitros, Falcons, Tornados in Action

The Glendale High School varsity boys’ soccer team tied host Burbank, 2-2, in a Pacific League game on Tuesday.
Senior Mateo Grasso and junior Hani Ahmadie each scored once while junior Edgar Naghdalyan was credited with a pair of assists.
The Nitros previously blanked visiting Burroughs High of Burbank in a league matchup, 1-0, as junior Kevin Anjunyan scored the deciding goal in the second half. Meanwhile, junior goalie Emil Sarkisians posted his seventh shutout victory of the campaign.
Glendale hosted Hoover High in an intracity rivalry matchup yesterday; the game ended after the Glendale News-Press’ deadline and will be included in next week’s issue. The Nitros (8-1-1 overall, 5-1-1 in league) will visit Arcadia for a league game on Tuesday, Jan. 17, at 3:30 p.m.

CRESCENTA VALLEY

Crescenta Valley High School senior Chris Atachian scored one goal to help the Falcons defeat Muir High in a Pacific League game on Tuesday.

The Falcons collected their seventh consecutive victory and sixth straight shutout after blanking visiting Muir High of Pasadena, 2-0, in a Pacific League game on Tuesday.
Seniors Chris Atachian and Owen Denisiu each scored once while senior goalie Miles Vallejo recorded a pair of saves to preserve the shutout.
CVHS previously routed host Burbank in a league matchup, 3-0. Senior Adam Lorek, junior Grant Hovhannisyan and Denisiu each finished with one goal while seniors Narek Fallah and Miros Abedian were each credited with an assist.
The Falcons visited Arcadia for a league contest yesterday; the game ended after the Glendale News-Press’ deadline and will be included in next week’s issue. Crescenta Valley (13-1 overall, 7-0 in league) will visit Pasadena for a league matchup on Tuesday, Jan. 17, at 3:30 p.m.

HOOVER

Hoover High School junior Hayke Sahakyan and the Tornados will host Burroughs High of Burbank in a league matchup on Tuesday, Jan. 17, at 3:30 p.m.

The Tornados lost at Pasadena, 3-1, in a Pacific League matchup on Tuesday. Individual statistics were not reported by the Hoover coaching staff.
Hoover previously dropped a pair of nonleague games against Kennedy High of Granada Hills, 1-0, and Van Nuys, 3-0, after being shut out at Muir High in Pasadena, 2-0, in a league matchup.
