The Crescenta Valley High School varsity girls’ soccer team was defeated at Independence High in Bakersfield, 2-1, in a nonleague game on Wednesday.
The Falcons faced a 1-0 deficit entering the second half until freshman Kira Lee found the back of the net on an assist by junior Ella DeKruyf. CVHS ultimately lost in penalty kicks after ending regulation in a 1-1 tie.
