Tornados Win, Falcons Lose Season Openers

The Hoover High School varsity girls’ water polo team lost a nonleague game against visiting Temple City, 14-3, on Wednesday. Individual statistics were not reported to the Glendale News-Press.
The Tornados previously routed visiting El Rancho High of Pico Rivera, 16-2, in their season opener. Ellysee Baker scored a game-high five goals, Juliana Aviles posted four goals, and Leah Gomez scored three goals. Meanwhile, Malia Bautista and Amy Vasquez each registered a pair of goals.
Hoover (1-1 overall) will return to nonleague action by visiting Warren High in Downey on Tuesday, Dec. 6, at 3:30 p.m.

CRESCENTA VALLEY

The Falcons lost their nonleague season opener against visiting Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy of La Cañada Flintridge, 12-5, on Wednesday. Individual statistics were not reported to the Glendale News-Press.
The Falcons are scheduled to compete in the Mistletoe Classic on Dec. 2-3.

GLENDALE

The Nitros will host Flintridge Sacred Heart of La Cañada Flintridge in their season opener on Saturday, Nov. 19, at 11 a.m.
Following the holiday week, Glendale will return to action by hosting Flintridge Prep of La Cañada Flintridge on Tuesday, Nov. 29, at 3:30 p.m.
