Day of the Dead Comes to Central Library

First published in the Nov. 5 print issue of the Glendale News-Press.

Today, the city celebrates the Day of the Dead at the Glendale Central Library, where local patrons will join in on the festivities by bringing photos and personal mementos as offerings for their loved ones to the community altar, from 3-7 p.m. The gesture of leaving an offering is a Mexican tradition that lets the dead know they are still remembered. The celebration will also feature additional altars, arts and crafts, face painting, and live performances by Ballet Folklorico Mexico Azteca, Mariachi Arcoiris de Los Angeles, Miramonte Elementary’s Little Kids Rock Band and MEXIKA: Music & Dance of Ancient Mexico.
