A 21-year-old San Bernardino man and 19-year-old transient man were arrested on suspicion of felony burglary after officers responded to a report of two men checking vehicle door handles in the 200 block of Spencer Street at around 4 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10. Officers said they believe the men ransacked six vehicles in the area, stealing designer sunglasses, a record player, DJ soundboard, a window breaker and numerous credit cards, paperwork and checkbooks belonging to others in their vehicle.

A 26-year-old Pasadena man and a 38-year-old Powhatan, Virginia, woman were arrested on suspicion of identity theft after officers responded to a report of a possible vehicle burglary in the 300 block of Concord Street at around 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 8. Officers reported finding 20 credit cards belonging to others and a notebook with personal identifying information for 24 people written inside after searching their vehicle.

A 36-year-old Glendale man was arrested on suspicion of identity theft, impersonation and possession of a controlled substance after being pulled over at around 3 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, on Alameda Avenue near the 5 Freeway. Officers reported discovering two pipes — one with methamphetamine in it — and a credit card belonging to someone else inside the man’s vehicle, and that the man initially gave a false name. He was also booked for several outstanding warrants.

GPD announced the following arrests for reckless driving, after which the suspects’ vehicles were impounded:
• An 18-year-old Glendale man at 10:05 p.m. Saturday, July 30, near Kenneth Road and Linden Avenue
• A 42-year-old Glendale man at 8:24 p.m. Saturday, July 30, near Glenoaks Boulevard and Sleepy Hollow Drive
• A 65-year-old Glendale man at 5:10 p.m. Saturday, July 30, near Garfield Avenue and San Fernando Road
• A 29-year-old Burbank man at 10:08 p.m. Sunday, July 31, near Glenoaks Boulevard and Rosedale Avenue
• A 19-year-old Valencia man at 2:38 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, near Montrose Avenue and New York Avenue

Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station

A power generator and a toolbox were reported stolen from a home in the 2400 block of Laughlin Avenue in La Crescenta after an intruder removed a back door from its hinges and burglarized the home sometime between 8 a.m. Wednesday, June 15, and 8:20 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 4.

A man was seen running away from a stockpile of items stolen from a store loading dock in the 3100 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Crescenta at 7:28 a.m. Friday, Aug. 5, after a store employee had discovered him looking through store bins. He was described as standing 6 feet tall, weighing 150 pounds and wearing a gray hoodie, black shoes and black pants with a blue bandana in the back pocket.

An unidentified man was seen burglarizing a storage shed at a business in the 2800 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Crescenta starting at 4:49 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 4, stealing a power generator and several glass and ceramic cups after breaking through a window. The generator was recovered nearby. The intruder was described as a white man standing 6 feet tall, weighing 200 pounds and wearing a hoodie, shorts and gloves.

A catalytic converter was reported to have been stolen from a vehicle parked in the 2500 block of Montrose Avenue in Montrose sometime from 4-4:45 a.m. Monday, Aug. 8.
