NCL Glendale to Host ‘From the Heart’ Blood Drive

First published in the June 11 print issue of the Glendale News-Press.

The Glendale chapter of National Charity League, Inc. will hold its 16th annual “From the Heart” American Red Cross Blood Drive on Sunday, June 26, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at USC Verdugo Hills Hospital in Council Rooms A-D (1812 Verdugo Blvd.).
The summer is a time when blood supplies are very low, and donors are urgently needed. Members of the community are encouraged to make an appointment to donate by emailing fromtheheartncl@gmail.com with your requested time, or by signing up for this drive at redcrossblood.org. Those registering can use sponsor code: nclglendale.
Each pint of blood the organization collects can help save up to three lives and will touch the lives of so many more. It’s a great way to pay it forward and make an impact on people in our community and across the country. Antibody testing for both vaccine and infection will also be available. To be eligible to donate, participants should not have previously donated from the period starting May 1 through June 26. Donors will be given a $5 e-gift card to a merchant of choice.
The Glendale chapter of NCL, Inc., was first organized in 1942 and became a chartered chapter of National Charity League, Inc. in 1958. It works with more than 20 local philanthropies, supporting them with hands-on-service. Through the mother-daughter relationship, National Charity League, Inc. develops strong women leaders serving and impacting communities today for generations to come.
