Chabad Welcomes Prager to Speak on Child Leadership

First published in the May 28 print issue of the Glendale News Press.

Chabad of the Crescenta Valley recently held a Mother’s Day lecture given by nationally syndicated award-winning radio host, and La Cañada resident Dennis Prager.
The lecture was titled “Creating Moral Leaders in Children,” and it took place at the Lanterman Auditorium. All proceeds from the event support Chabad — the only permanent Jewish establishment in La Cañada Flintridge.

More than 450 people from La Cañada and the greater Los Angeles area came together for an evening of learning and inspiration — focused primarily on how to raise the leaders of tomorrow.
Some of the ideas include the importance of explicitly telling your child that the foremost quality you wish to impart is that they be a good person — above all academic accomplishments and monetary success; that although a parent’s love is unconditional, “showering your child with love unconditionally” should be avoided boundaries must be set; the importance of the wisdom gained from the study of the Bible; and the importance of teaching your child courage.

Radio host Dennis Prager, who lives locally, recently delivered a lecture, titled “Creating Moral Leaders in Children,” at Chabad of the Crescenta Valley.
