Glendale Police Department

A 29-year-old Brooklyn man was arrested on suspicion of carrying a loaded firearm in public, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and identity theft after officers found him allegedly parked in a handicap parking zone without a placard. Officers reported finding a loaded handgun and an altered check addressed to someone else, among other items.

The GPD announced the following arrests for alleged reckless driving or street racing, after which the suspects’ vehicles were impounded:
• A 21-year-old Burbank man for reckless driving at noon Thursday, March 24, near the intersection of Glenoaks Boulevard and Concord Street
• A 20-year-old Los Angeles man for illegal speed contest at 2:30 p.m. Friday, March 25, near the intersection of Central Avenue and Los Feliz Road
• A 48-year-old Glendale woman for reckless driving at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, near the intersection of Garfield Avenue and Mariposa Street
• A juvenile for reckless driving at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 31, in the 200 block of Central Avenue
• An 18-year-old Van Nuys woman and 23-year-old Glendale man for illegal speed contest at 9:15 p.m. Thursday, April 7, near the intersection of Glenoaks Boulevard and Western Avenue.

Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station
Three padlocks for inventory containers at a store in the 2600 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Crescenta were reported to have been cut through sometime between 7 p.m. Friday, April 8, and 11 a.m. Saturday, April 9. Nothing appeared to have been stolen from the containers.
