Virtual Firescaping Class Oct. 10

Firescaping is a landscaping practice that helps reduce the damages from wildfires to properties based on the design of property spaces and proper landscape fire-resistant plants. As wildfires become a norm in California, Foothill Municipal Water District is sponsoring an online firescaping class on Saturday, Oct. 10, from 9-11 a.m., to help the communities in the Foothills learn and implement firescaping practices.
Join Douglas Kent (speaker), an expert in ecological land management, the practice of designing and maintaining landscapes for specific environmental outcomes, such as carbon reduction, pollinator attraction or water body protection. Douglas has run statewide educational campaigns and participated in hundreds of landscape projects. Since 2005, he has toured, worked with and spoken to fire-scarred communities throughout California
A reservation is required. Visit fmwd.com#Landscaping_and_Classes to sign up for the virtual class.
